Snowy Egret Studies by David Rankin

At FiftyThree, we love meeting creators from around the world who have adopted Paper in their creative process.

Wildlife artist David Rankin has worked with watercolors for nearly three decades, making a name for himself and his particular style of drawing animal subjects in their natural habitats. He marveled at the ease of sharing from Paper: “Until recently, it was only my wife and maybe a neighbor who would see [my unpublished sketches]. Now [with Paper] I can share what I’m working on without scanning, editing, and printing it. It’s like bringing your painting to the local mall and putting it up in the middle of it.”

Here, he shows the progression of a snowy egret in three stages, pointing out that he could have stopped at any of the three and been happy with the results.

As always, we invite you to enjoy the details along with the big picture. Visit David Rankin on Facebook to view his rich collection of wildlife sketches created on Paper.
