“But creativity doesn’t bloom in a vacuum. To blossom and grow it needs others to appreciate the effort, and to provide inspiration and encouragement.”
Beautiful creation and accompanying post about the innate human need to make and collaborate, made with Paper by fledglingartist.
#PAPERPROMPTS Thankful for…
Today is Thanksgiving Day in the US, but the idea that inspired this holiday is universal and personal to each of us, the expression of gratitude.
In the spirit of showing appreciation, the PAPER PROMPT for this week is Thankful for…
Share what you’re thankful for, and be sure to include the tag #PAPERPROMPTS so we can search for your submission. We’ll feature some of our favorites next week. And, last but not least, thank you for being part of the Paper community!
Did you miss our last prompt? Creators shared their best laid plans.

#PAPERPROMPTS RESULTS The End
Inspired by the stuff of nightmares, our latest PAPER PROMPT was “The End.” Throughout history, people have used pictures to tell stories, so, to coincide with Halloween and Dia de los Muertos this week, we asked you to share the stories that scare you most.
Some creations took on a comical tone; others were chillingly realistic. There were many pumpkins. We’ve featured a few of our favorites here.
Learn more about Paper Prompts, and see all submissions with the hashtag #PAPERPROMPTS on Twitter and Tumblr!

Today is Bob Ross’ birthday. In honor of the beloved painter, teacher, and The Joy of Painting host, make “fluffy little clouds” and “happy trees” with Paper today. We’ll feature a few here and on our Facebook page this week.
Feeling nostalgic? We certainly are. Watch Bob create clouds in this video clip.

Nowhere To Go But Up
Earlier this year, 6ill9re9 expressed interest in leaving Paris to work in Singapore in this note:
“I have been in the media industry for 15 years now, but I am a creative director since 2007, when I did my first independent music video for a hip hop band…
If you have any connection in Singapore I would be happy that you share it with me. This note is like a bottle in the sea.”
We like to think most bottles make it to shore, eventually.

PLAY WITH PAPER. NOW IN APPLE STORES.
Recently, we were invited to showcase Paper on the homescreen of iPad demo units in US Apple stores. To illustrate the range of ideas that found their start in our app, we asked a few of our favorite creators to share their journals, which you can now enjoy in stores across the country.

Next time you’re in an Apple store, open a journal in Paper and play with the possibilities. And if you start a sketch in store, take a screenshot or photo and send it to us at paper@fiftythree.com. We’ll be sure to feature a few on this blog.
Leaving a sketch is a little like sealing a note in a bottle and tossing it out to sea. You never know who might find it…
